Louisa’s Place in America’s Story

Celebrating America’s 250th through community, creativity and connection.

Hundreds of people across Louisa County have helped create something that will become a permanent part of our community.

More than 450 LCPS students, along with businesses, organizations, volunteers and residents, painted individual tiles for the Love Our Community Mural. On October 21, we’ll bring everyone together to reveal how those individual contributions have become one completed work of community art.

Make an Evening of It on Main Street 4 pm - 6:30 pm

Come early or stay after the reveal and stroll Main Street, visit our local businesses, grab a bite to eat and enjoy downtown Louisa. We encourage everyone to make the mural celebration an opportunity to support the businesses that help make our community a special place to live, work and visit.

The Big Reveal @ 5:00 PM

If you painted a tile and want to be part of the community photo, plan to arrive before 5:00 PM. We'll have a short presentation, partner photo once revealed and then everyone that completed a tile is invited for a group photo.

The event takes place during LCPS Kindness Month and on Support Your Local Chamber Day, a fitting connection for a project created through education, business and community partnership as Louisa marks America’s 250th anniversary.

The Love Our Community Mural is led by the Louisa Forward Foundation and Louisa County Chamber of Commerce, with generous funding from Amazon and project partnership throughout the process from Amazon, Clark Technologies, Louisa County Public Schools Arts Department, and Career & Technical Education (CTE).

The mural’s permanent property location is provided by The Pivotal Insurance.
