Restaurant Revitalization Fund:
A senior official with the SBA yesterday announced during a Senate committee hearing that the agency is planning to roll out the portal in "early April". He further stated that the agency is working on developing a technology solution that incorporates automated review processes to speed up the grant approving process. One example of this effort is that the SBA is working with point-of-sale vendors to provide relevant sales data used to calculate the amount of revenues lost from 2019 to 2020.
It is strongly advised that eligible entity applicants apply for a DUNS number and register with SAM as soon as possible to ensure you can apply when the portal permits you to do so. The fund will likely run out of money quickly.
AND
The SBA announced earlier this evening the following changes to the EIDL program. This pertains to loans and not the first advance.
Effective April 6th, the maximum EIDL will increase to $500,0000.
For all borrowers that received $150,000, although they were eligible for a larger amount, will be contacted by the SBA directly on how to request an increase.
EIDL borrowers will have 2 years after the date of their loan to request an increase.
If you know of companies that need assistance that want to apply for an increase in their EIDL, please send them our way for assistance.
