Email is a convenient and necessary tool for small business owners to reach their intended audience. Unfortunately, it is also vulnerable to compromise and your business is vulnerable to exploitation. This seminar provides an overview of different types of means criminals use to achieve compromise and offers ways small business owners can protect themselves.

The scams they employ run from simple to sophisticated and can cause irreparable damage to both individuals and businesses alike. This seminar provides an overview of emerging fraud schemes related to all aspects of the pandemic, from the manner in which business is conducted to personal-related issues including COVID vaccine scams. It is designed to protect your business, your family and yourself from exploitation.

The Joint Terrorism Task Force

The FBI’s Joint Terrorism Task Forces are our nation’s front line of defense against both domestic and international terrorism. They are highly-trained, locally-based investigators, analysts, linguists and other specialists from dozens of U.S. law enforcement and intelligence agencies.

This seminar provides an overview of these complex and highly adaptable organizations designed to counter a wide range of ever changing threats and respond to incidents at a moment’s notice.

Meet the Expert: Tom Stamulis, Cyber Industry Expert

Tom Stamulis has over 25 years of cybersecurity experience, and began his career in the US Army Signal Corps before transitioning to Military Intelligence as a Counterintelligence Agent with assignments in Germany, the US, and Middle East. Tom served his country honorably in both Operation Desert Shield, Desert Storm, and Operation Iraqi Freedom. Tom is certified as an Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), and Information Security Manager (CISM), and is Certified in Risk and Information Systems Control.

Since arriving in Winchester in 2018, Tom started his cybersecurity firm specializing in helping small and medium businesses protect their critical and sensitive digital information and was recently awarded the Top of Virginia’s Regional Chamber of Commerce’s 2021 Entrepreneur of the Year. Tom joined the Virginia Small Business Development Center in October 2020 to work as a Cybersecurity Counselor providing cybersecurity insight and strategies to business owners.
