WISECHOICE HEALTHCARE ALLIANCE UPDATE

The Virginia Chamber has been working diligently on creating the WiseChoice Healthcare Alliance to expand access and lower the cost of healthcare coverage for small businesses across Virginia.

Below is a recap of the program accomplishments and important upcoming dates.

2022 Accomplishments:

April 2022: Governor Signed HB884 / SB195 Bills

June 2022: Ceremonial Signing at June 2nd Virginia Health Care Conference

July 2022: HB884 / SB195 Legislation Effective Date

October 2022: WiseChoice Healthcare Alliance Trust Established

December 2022: Proposed Regulations From BOI Release

2023 Timeline:

January 2023:

Program name and website are launched at the Virginia Chamber’s Annual Chamber Day Conference

February/March 2023:

Significant behind-the-scenes work related to actuarial analysis and underwriting, benefit design, marketing and distribution, and business modeling. These items are all integral to our regulatory filing with Virginia Bureau of Insurance.

May 2023:

Based on current BOI information, we hope to file for authority sometime in May.

The Virginia Chamber will be hosting WiseChoice Healthcare Alliance Orientation and Work Sessions for local chambers and participating associations.
