Airport Government & Elected Officials
Purpose |
The IDA supports the economic and commercial development of Louisa County by acquiring, owning, leasing, and disposing of properties and making loans to the end that the IDA may be able to promote industry and develop trade by inducing manufacturing, industrial, governmental, nonprofit and commercial enterprises and institutions of higher education to locate in or remain in the County and further the use of its agricultural products and natural resources. The IDA promotes the safety, health, welfare, convenience and prosperity of Louisa County residents. |
Louisa County Code Article II, Section 202: There shall be seven (7) Directors of the Authority who shall be appointed by the Board of Supervisors of Louisa County, Virginia. All appointments shall be for terms of four (4) years and until a successor director shall be appointed and qualified. Each Director, before entering upon his duties, shall take and subscribe the oath prescribed by §49.1 of the Code of Virginia of 1950, as amended. Section 204: The Directors shall elect from their membership a Chairman and a Vice Chairman of the Authority. The Directors may select from their membership or not as they desire a Secretary and a Treasurer, or a Secretary- Treasurer. |

Appointments |
The Authority shall be comprised of seven (7) members appointed by the Board of Supervisors. |
