Louisa County High School is a fully comprehensive high school that lives by its motto, ONE Family. LCHS embraces a culture of kindness, respect, high expectations, and accountability. Throughout its various programs and everyday procedures, LCHS strives to promote The 5 Cs put forth by the Virginia Department of Education: Communication, Collaboration, Creativity, Critical Thinking, and Citizenship. At LCHS, our mission is to maintain a positive school climate with a focus on developing citizenship in our students, all while providing a quality educational experience for every student.
Louisa County High School’s advanced curriculum options allow our best and brightest students to graduate not only with a diploma but an associate’s degree as well, often at little to no cost for families! Louisa County High School has also developed one of the most varied and successful on-campus Career and Technical Education programs in the state. Our students hone job skills, earning industry certifications, licenses, and even steady paychecks in fields such as the culinary arts, firefighting, cosmetology, building trades, turf management, automotive mechanics, nursing, and much more.
Louisa County High School students lead the way academically as well. Recent testing data has indicated that Louisa County High School students finished atop the region in SOL scores for English, Math, and Science.And while academics are the primary thread of any high school, LCHS also offers a multitude of extracurricular activities, athletics, and clubs.

The Lion’s Roar is Louisa County High School’s student-run newspaper. Our program’s mission is to serve as a voice for the student body while providing news coverage to students and the community. We strive to be a positive force in both the school and throughout the county. In the 2020-2021 school year, we launched LCHSnews.com to allow more accessibility for our readers.
