Dear Friends of Habitat for Humanity Louisa County,
As 2021 comes to a close, we would like to take a moment to recap the completed projects in the Louisa County community and recognize all who support our work and helped us achieve our goals.
Indeed, it was a successful year!
On the home building front, the two new homes on Blueberry Lane were dedicated and the homebuyer for the Diggstown Rd. home recently closed and is in the process of moving in. Three families will celebrate Christmas as owners of a safe, warm place they can call home!
The Critical Repair program was greatly expanded this year. We now have a dedicated team of volunteers managing the program. The result is more projects for more families. Growing from one or two projects per year, we completed seven projects ranging from ramps and porches to siding and window replacement. In addition, we held a very successful golf tournament at Cutalong to raise money to purchase a trailer, tools and materials dedicated to support all Critical Repair projects.
And a well deserved shout out goes to the Fluvanna-Louisa Housing Foundation. Habitat and the Foundation worked together on a number of these projects. The Foundation supplied materials and Habitat supplied volunteer building crews. The relationship is slated to grow in 2022. Once again, the goal is to serve as many families as possible.
There are a great number of individuals and organizations that make this effort possible. Our volunteers, as well as the support of donors, businesses, contractors, churches, and foundations, help us achieve the mission of providing a hand up to those in need. We are grateful to all who stand with Habitat for Humanity Louisa County.
As the calendar turns to 2022, we are planning another ambitious year. As always, your support would be greatly appreciated. To those who have donated before, please stand with us again. To others who support the idea that "Everybody deserves a safe, affordable place to live", consider donating today.
Thanks for helping make these activities possible.
