30TH Annual TJACE@PVCC Voices of Adult Learners Program Set for March 19
Charlottesville, Va. – March 12, 2026 – The Piedmont Virginia Community College (PVCC) Thomas Jefferson Adult and Career Education (TJACE) division will hold its 30TH Annual “Voices of Adult Learners (VOICES)” program March 19, 2026, at 6:30 p.m. VOICES is part of the Virginia Festival of the Book, and will be held in the V. Earl Dickinson Building Main Stage Theatre on the PVCC main campus. The event is free and open to the public. Attendees will receive a free book.
VOICES is a celebration bringing together adults from literacy, GED?, and English as a Second Language education programs to share their meaningful stories and poems about family, work, education and belonging. TJACE received over 75 entries for the publication. Once again, included this year are stories from adult learners in Besancon, France (a Charlottesville Sister City).
TJACE@PVCC Director Carol Coffey shared, “Our theme of ‘I Dream’ evoked memories from around the globe. Students will share stories of laughter, love and hope built from courage, determination and the kindness of strangers.”
The dedication and generosity of many individuals and organizations contribute to the success of this program. TJACE@PVCC collaborates with community organizations including Albemarle Charlottesville Regional Jail, Literacy Volunteers of Charlottesville/Albemarle, and Virginia Humanities’ Virginia Festival of the Book to help advance adult education and literacy.
