Bringing Community to Life: Team Wins Multiple National Awards for Storytelling

Fredericksburg, Va. — Rappahannock Electric Cooperative’s (REC) Communications and Public Relations team has been nationally recognized for their outstanding creativity, strategic messaging, and powerful member engagement.

The team received five Silver Awards in the National Rural Electric Cooperative Association’s (NRECA) Spotlight on Excellence Awards, a prestigious program honoring the top communications work among electric cooperatives across the country. REC’s entries were recognized for their originality, effectiveness, and ability to inform and inspire. 2025 Spotlight on Excellence Awards

REC was also recognized by the Cooperative Communicators Association (CCA), an organization dedicated to enhancing communications in cooperatives of all kinds across North America. The CCA’s Communications Contest highlights excellence in writing, photography, video and strategic campaigns.
