Fall/Winter 2022 Edition of Lake Anna Connections Now Available
Here we are again – the beginning of another beautiful Fall and Winter season in Lake Anna!
Even as the leaves change color and the temperatures get a little cooler, residents around the region continue to enjoy all the wonder that the lake area has to offer. Whether spending a day on the water fishing, experiencing the thrill of mounting those water skis once again, warming off at the beach, or enjoying patio dining at a local restaurant, there is rarely a disappointing day to enjoy the outdoors at Lake Anna.
The Fall/Winter edition of Lake Anna Connections focuses on a few area organizations that are helping visitors, residents, and students enjoy the beauty of Central Virginia. The first major article this Fall profiles a new group in the region, Lake Anna Jazz. Area music lovers Robert McBride and Ginny Carr-Goldberg have worked hard to bring a variety of outdoor jazz events to the lake in recent months and will continue to host outdoor and indoor events in the coming days. Passionate about bringing great music to Lake Anna, this organization has put on nearly 20 events featuring upwards of 100 artists so far. www.lakeannaconnections.com
While thumbing through the current magazine, the next major article readers will encounter is entitled “Creating America’s Future Farmers.” This story highlights the work being done by students and teachers at Louisa County High School with the Future Farmers of America program. While much of a school day takes place behind a desk, young adults in these programs get a chance to be outside while gaining hands-on experience in the areas of horticulture, veterinary science, and livestock. From raising chickens to selling apple butter, these industrious students have certainly been learning a lot.
Finally, the last feature article in this edition of Lake Anna Connections focuses on a new club in the region known as the Lake Anna Elite Anglers. In the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic shuttering all school athletic programs in 2020, a group of parents and young people formed this fishing group for students in second grade through high school. Combining education, fun, mentorship, and hearty competition, this group of anglers has engaged in events both on Lake Anna and throughout Virginia. Some of these students have even been scouted by area colleges to join their fishing teams!
As always, readers are encouraged to enjoy both the major articles in this edition as well as all of the other local content we provide. In addition to informative advertising and our business directory, three short articles tell the stories of local businesses providing valuable services in the community. For this edition, these companies include Baker’s Heating & Air Conditioning, The Jamie Brown Team, and Virginia Boat Shows.
So, get out there and enjoy the beauty all around us! And while you’re at it, bring along a copy of Lake Anna Connections – it’s portable!
