Giving Opportunities

Giving Opportunities is a quarterly publication that allows nonprofits to share current projects or organizational needs.

Submissions are distributed in a unique newsletter to fund holders and are listed publicly on our website found here:

Submission Guidelines

• Submissions may only be received from nonprofits that have a significant presence in the foundation service area (Charlottesville, Albemarle, Fluvanna, Greene, Orange, Louisa, Nelson, and Buckingham counties) and for projects directed specifically to the foundation’s service area.

• Organizations can have one submission published every twelve months. If there isn’t room for your submission in the quarter you hope for, it can be included in the next quarter’s Giving Opportunities Newsletter if the request is still timely. Foundation staff will be in touch if this is the case.

• Submissions must be completed via an online application form initiated by the foundation. To request the online application form for Giving Opportunities, please contact Valerie Martin at vmartin@cacfonline.org.

• The online application form asks the following questions:

• Short Description of project/request (250 characters)
• Long Description of project/request
• Amount requested
• Photo or logo
• Organization website link
• Contact name, email and phone number
• Optional: PDF Document

The foundation reserves the right to edit and format any submitted text for spacing and consistency. Whenever possible, organizations will have a chance to review any modifications for factual accuracy before publication.

If you would like to have your project listed in the Giving Opportunities Newsletter, please submit your online application form before one of the following dates:

• March 31st for mid-April newsletter
• June 30th for mid-July newsletter
• September 30th for mid-October newsletter
• December 31st for mid-January newsletter

Giving Opportunities is a type of crowd-sourced fundraising. Once the period closes for fundholders to respond, your organization will receive a check that states “Pass Through Fund.” This is used to collect all the donations in one location and will not include specific information regarding any of the donors.
