Get to know Jason Holland, Director – Electric Distribution Operation

Matthew “Jason” Holland is Director Electric Distribution Operations. He is responsible for managing and maintaining all aspects of the Emergency Preparedness Center along with the Regional Operation Centers for Virginia and North Carolina. Jason joined the company in 2006 as an Operations Analyst in the Central Regional Operations Center. He has held numerous positions within Electric Distribution and Information Technology in the Services Group. In 2014, he was promoted to Application Manager IT, responsible for the support and maintenance of the Outage Management and GIS systems utilized by Power Delivery. He was named Manager of Fleet Maintenance in 2017 and was responsible for an $18 million-dollar budget focused on the operational excellence of 6,000 business critical pieces of equipment. Under his leadership, the Fleet organization’s warranty revenue increased 300% and commercial costs were reduced by $500,000. He was also a member of the Fleet Optimization and Standardization committee for all Dominion Energy companies. He was named Director Customer Account Management in 2020 helping lead the group into the new Customer Experience focused initiatives and responsible for a $23 million dollar budget. Jason was named Director of Operations and Emergency Preparedness in 2021.
He served as President of the American Association of Blacks in Energy (AABE) - Virginia Chapter from 2018-2020. AABE is a national organization with a mission to ensure all parties are represented in policies related to the energy industry. AABE’s goals are supported through energy awareness, volunteerism, and career development of industry professionals. In the last four years, AABE has awarded 31 scholarships to aspiring diverse college students. AABE has also co-hosted many Dominion Energy events such as the Executive Roundtable and the Diversity Student Conference.
Jason co-chaired Dominion Energy’s 2nd annual Diversity Student Conference, an event that attracted more than 125 students from across the country to explore internship opportunities with one of the top utilities in the nation. In addition, Jason serves as a mentor to several individuals and volunteers regularly to support community efforts. Jason is also a member of the Social Justice Grants Initiative selection committee for Dominion Energy.
