LOUISA COUNTY Bark Park Ribbon Cutting & Louisa County Animal Shelter Petapalooza event

6/20/2022

LOUISA, VIRGINIA – To celebrate the opening of Louisa County’s new Bark Park location, the Louisa County Animal Shelter will host a Petapalooza event on June 25 from 10am – 2pm. Event goers and their pets are invited to shop vendors, enjoy DJed music, and watch a Louisa County Sheriff's Office K9 demo. Children may enjoy free activities provided by Louisa County Parks, Recreation & Tourism.

While all are encouraged to enjoy music, play, eat and shop throughout the event, participants should note scheduled activities will include remarks for the Bark Park ribbon cutting at 10:30am, followed shortly after by the Sheriff’s Office K9 demo at 11am. Tours of the Animal Shelter will be available from 11:30am – 1pm. Shelter animals will be available for meet-and-greets, adoption and foster throughout the event as well.

Jaunt, the area’s transit provider, will provide a free shuttle from overflow parking areas as needed.

The Louisa County Bark Park was recently relocated next to the Louisa County Animal Shelter. The new park’s configuration includes three fenced areas which will allow for meet-and-greets with shelter animals or K9 training for the Sheriff’s Office without closing to the public. The park’s previous location is the site of the future New Bridge Fire & Rescue station, which will enhance emergency services around Lake Anna and the greater community.
