Louisa County Chamber of Commerce Receives Virginia Tourism Corporation Recovery Marketing Leverage Grant for Tourism Marketing

Louisa County Chamber of Commerce has received $20,000 from the Virginia Tourism Corporation’s (VTC) Recovery Marketing Leverage Program (RMLP), designed to help local and regional tourism entities attract more visitors by leveraging limited local marketing dollars through a local match of the state grants funds.

More than $860,000 in matching grant funds were awarded to 64 local tourism initiatives through this program. This funding cycle, local partners will provide more than $2.2 million in-kind marketing value to match the VTC grants. The grants will ultimately impact 384 statewide tourism entities.

This is the third Virginia Tourism Corporation’s Recovery Marketing Leverage grant received by the Louisa Chamber.  These grant funds will continue to build the LOVE LOUISA brand with the launch of the new Central Virginia Fermentation Farm Trail.

Travel to and consumption of craft beverages is part of a much larger farm-to-table movement and this will be the first craft beverage trail in the area.  The founding partners include Cooling Pond Brewery, Coyote Hole Ciderworks, Everleigh Vineyards, Fifty-Third Winery, Lake Anna Winery and Southern Revere Cellars. Each of these local breweries, wineries, and cideries embrace their connections with the local history and geography and engage in sustainable practices that support other local farmers and businesses. The trail will promote the lure of craft and persuade visitors to travel to Louisa County to enjoy the local environs, explore back roads, engage in a range of experiential activities, and in short, influence the success of our region.

“The Central Virginia Fermentation Farm Trail will help us encourage our fellow Virginians to visit our incredible wineries and breweries, and maybe even bring in craft beverage lovers from out of state,” said James Smith, Director, Louisa County Parks, Recreation and Tourism. “We would also like to express our appreciation to the Louisa Chamber of Commerce for their work to bring our local businesses together.”

VTC offered these grant funds as a first step to re-entry into the marketplace to spur economic activity and future travel across the Commonwealth. The RMLP is designed to increase visitor spending by stimulating new tourism marketing through partnerships and extending the “Virginia is for Lovers” brand.
