Louisa County Launches New Visitor Map to Promote Tourism, Local Businesses, and Community Attractions

LOUISA COUNTY, VA — The Louisa County Chamber of Commerce has announced the launch of the new Visit Louisa Tourism Map, a long-requested visitor resource designed to help travelers, new residents, and businesses explore Louisa County’s attractions, communities, history, outdoor recreation, dining, lodging, and local businesses.

The map is now available at the Louisa County Museum and Visitors Center. Additional distribution is now underway through partner locations, visitor centers, local businesses, tourism destinations, community events, Virginia Welcome Centers, and interstate rest areas. The expanded distribution is designed to introduce more travelers to Louisa County while increasing visibility for the businesses, attractions, and destinations that support the local economy.

The project was led by the Louisa County Chamber of Commerce in partnership with the Louisa County Historical Society, Town of Louisa, Town of Mineral, Virginia Scenic Railway, and Louisa County Tourism (Visit Louisa). Additional funding support was provided through a Virginia Tourism Corporation grant.

“For years, we’ve had people consistently ask for a map that helps visitors, new residents, and businesses better explore Louisa County,” said Tracy Hale Clark, Executive Director of the Louisa County Chamber of Commerce. “Tourism is an important economic driver for our local businesses, and this map is designed to help connect people to the shops, restaurants, attractions, lodging, and experiences that support our local economy and strengthen visibility for businesses throughout the county.”

The two-sided map highlights destinations and experiences across Louisa County, including wineries, breweries, historic sites, parks, shopping, dining, Lake Anna, outdoor recreation, and community attractions. It also includes detailed sections for the Town of Louisa, Town of Mineral, and Lake Anna to help visitors more easily navigate and experience the area.

The project was shaped through close collaboration with Katelyn Coughlan, Executive Director of the Louisa County Historical Society, and Cindy King, Louisa County Community Engagement and Tourism Manager. Their leadership helped guide historical content, visitor experience strategy, destination representation, and overall alignment with Louisa County’s tourism goals and brand identity.

“The map helps tell the story of Louisa County in a way that connects our history, communities, and visitor experiences,” said Coughlan. “This collaborative effort creates an accessible resource that encourages people to explore the county more deeply while supporting local destinations, heritage sites, and businesses.”

The map was designed by City Select, a nationally recognized tourism map design company specializing in destination-focused visitor resources. City Select brought industry expertise, creative direction, and a practical understanding of how visitors use maps to explore a community, resulting in a polished tourism asset designed to serve Louisa County for years to come.

The Visit Louisa Tourism Map reflects a broader effort to strengthen tourism visibility, support local businesses, and create practical tools that help visitors connect with the communities and experiences throughout Louisa County. Further, the map points to VisitLouisa.com to allow visitors to find specific businesses, things to do, and plan a route digitally.

Businesses, attractions, lodging properties, and community destinations interested in displaying the new Visit Louisa Tourism Map at their location may contact info@louisachamber.org for distribution information.
