Louisa County Receives Distinguished Budget Presentation Award

LOUISA, VIRGINIA – The Louisa County Board of Supervisors is proud to announce that the County has received the Distinguished Budget Presentation Award from the Government Finance Officers Association (GFOA) for its Fiscal Year 2026 budget document. Louisa County is a 10-time winner of this recognition.

This award represents a significant achievement by the County’s Finance Department and reflects the commitment of both staff and the Board of Supervisors to transparency and the highest principles of governmental budgeting. To earn this recognition, Louisa County’s budget document was evaluated for how effectively it serves as a policy document, financial plan, operations guide, and communications tool.

“This recognition highlights the diligence and high standards of County leadership, notably Deputy County Administrator Wanda Colvin,” said Board of Supervisors Chairman Duane Adams. “With the budget document as with other County financial documents, the finance department sets a standard of excellence to follow.”

More than 1,900 governmental entities across North America participate in the GFOA’s Budget Awards Program, underscoring the respect for the association’s advancement of government finance through best practices, professional development, resources and practical research.
