Louisa County Receives Excellence in Financial Reporting Award

LOUISA, VIRGINIA – Government Finance Officers Association of the United States and Canada (GFOA) has awarded the Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting to County of Louisa for its annual comprehensive financial report for the fiscal year ended June 30, 2024. The report has been judged by an impartial panel to meet the high standards of the program, which includes demonstrating a constructive "spirit of full disclosure" to clearly communicate its financial story. The Certificate of Achievement is the highest form of recognition in the area of governmental accounting and financial reporting, and its attainment represents a significant accomplishment by a government and its management.

Louisa County has received the award multiple years, reflecting the ongoing commitment to the integrity of financial management and accountable financial reporting.

“The annual comprehensive financial report is really an important tool for citizens to understand the use of the local tax dollar,” said Jackson District Supervisor Toni Williams. “The finance team in Louisa County goes above and beyond to make the document understandable to those outside of government, and I encourage our residents to review the detailed report.”
