LOUISA COUNTY SHERIFF'S OFFICE INVITES PUBLIC TO SPECIAL NEEDS & AUTISM AWARENESS FESTIVAL

LOUISA, VA – The Louisa County Sheriff's Office invites the public to attend the Project First Responder Special Needs & Autism Awareness Festival on Saturday, June 6, 2026, from 10:00 AM to 3:00 PM at Moss-Nuckols Elementary School, 2055 Courthouse Road, Louisa.
This free community event will bring together more than 50 resource organizations, vendors, first responders, and community partners dedicated to supporting individuals with autism and other special needs. More than 500 attendees are expected throughout the day.
The event will also highlight the inspiring story of Ledger Mann, a young boy with autism whose idea for emergency sensory backpacks has gained national attention, including a feature in People Magazine. Inspired by Ledger's vision, community members and volunteers have come together to assemble more than 100 LGM Backpacks that help first responders better serve individuals with autism and sensory needs during emergencies.
This festival offers a wonderful opportunity for media outlets to cover a positive community story focused on inclusion, awareness, volunteerism, and the impact one child can have on countless lives.
The Louisa County Sheriff's Office respectfully requests that media partners share this event through news broadcasts, community calendars, websites, and social media platforms. We also welcome on-site coverage and interviews during the event.
