Louisa County to Celebrate Skatepark Grand Opening on September 20
LOUISA, VIRGINIA – The Louisa County Board of Supervisors is pleased to announce the grand opening of the new Louisa County skatepark on Saturday, September 20, 2025. Following a ribbon-cutting ceremony in the afternoon, the park will be open from dawn to dusk daily.
The skatepark boasts an impressive half pipe ramp, multiple quarter pipes, wedge ramps and more. Skateboards, bikes and skates will be permitted. Helmets and closed-toes shoes will be required.
The community has long awaited the return of the park adjacent to the Betty Queen Center. The previous skatepark was removed for a temporary, though multi-year location, of the Louisa County Department of Health. With the Department of Health clinical and environmental offices now located at 101 Woolfolk Ave, Louisa, the skatepark has returned to its address of 540 Industrial Drive, Louisa.
“We’re very pleased to once again offer a skatepark to our community and particularly to our youth,” said Louisa County Parks, Recreation & Tourism Director James Smith. “This project is a wonderful example that community input matters, and we look forward to seeing our residents enjoying this space.”
The public and the media are invited to join Louisa County Parks, Recreation & Tourism between 11:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m. on Saturday for the ribbon-cutting event. Remarks from County leaders will begin at 11:00 a.m., and free Kona Ice and raffles will be ongoing through 2:00 p.m. The media is encouraged to arrange interviews to begin prior to the start of the event.
