Louisa Forward Foundation hosts 4th Annual Nonprofit Summit at Shenandoah Crossings Resort

9/6/2022

Louisa, Va. — The Louisa Forward Foundation (LFF) and Rappahannock Electric Cooperative (REC) will host the fourth annual Nonprofit Summit on Friday, October 21, 2022, 8:30 a.m. – 1:00 p.m., at Shenandoah Crossing Resort. The event is open to staff and volunteer leaders for all nonprofit organizations and businesses throughout Central Virginia with no restriction to locality or chamber membership.

"REC is a facilitator of community engagement and partnerships. As a sponsor of the nonprofit summit, we are demonstrating the value of bridging the communities together and increasing the connections between the resources available. We hope to see a large turnout from our nonprofit community both locally and our surrounding counties," noted Casey Hollins, Managing Director – Communications and Public Relations.

The summit provides access to subject matter experts without the high costs of travel and registration typically required to attend educational events. This year’s event will focus on “It's all in your head” with topics including:

  • Strategic Planning and shifting to work with less. What do we need to change about our programing or plan?
  • Avoiding burnout through self-care and balance.
  • Go for it!! Ignore those limiting beliefs and go for the big asks

Lloyd Runnett, Executive Director for the Louisa County Resource Council shared, "I find the networking at the non-profit summit to be one of the most beneficial aspects of the event. It allows community-minded leaders to form alliances and create opportunities for programs that benefit our community without having redundancy,"

A $25 registration fee ($20 for chamber members in any county) is required to participate. New in 2022 is the opportunity to participate as a $50 Resource Partner with a table display or inclusion in attendee bags in addition to the lunch and presentations. Thanks to our sponsors betterworld, Dominion Energy, and Hantzmon Wiebel all attendees will receive lunch and attendee gifts.
