(Orange, VA) October 15, 2021- This week’s QuadTank Pitch Competition will see one of Central Virginia’s dynamic small businesses winning $8,000 towards their next phase of growth. A total of 16 businesses participated in the preliminary rounds of the competition. Participants had 10 minutes to pitch their business needs to a panel of judges, similar to the popular TV show, Shark Tank.

Today, four finalists were announced:

• Madison County’s Jason Summers; ARiA

• Louisa County’s Jake Pugh; My Three Chambered Heart

• Greene County’s Andrea Johnson; The Intentional Optimist

• Louisa County’s Christopher Grime; Christopher's Food Service

The four will now present in the final round at Wednesday’s QuadCounty Business Summit. The annual networking event brings together businesses in the five counties of Orange, Louisa, Fluvanna, Greene, and Madison. This year’s event will be held at the Pavillion at Lakeland Farm in Orange County. Registration for the in-person event is still open at https://www.qcbsummit.com/.

QuadTank is sponsored by the Central Virginia Small Business Development Center, the business advising resource that offered preparation services to the participants.

"Every year it gets more difficult to choose four finalists from the brilliant applications for QuadTank,” said Rebecca Haydock, CV SBDC executive director. “The pitches were all from entrepreneurs with plans to make their communities better by advancing their business plans.”

Two of the four finalists are Louisa County businesses.

“It’s truly exciting to see two finalists from Louisa,” said Tracy Hale Clark, executive director of the Louisa County Chamber of Commerce. “Both are wonderful additions to our growing agritourism efforts as well as activities for our community. What’s truly inspiring is the determination behind following their passion.”
