7/27/2020

Rappahannock Electric Cooperative’s (REC) communications team received national recognition for their communications efforts from the National Rural Electric Cooperative Association (NRECA).

For the 2019 Spotlight on Excellence awards, REC received Gold for Best Internal News Publication for its employee newsletter and Silver for Best Use of Social Media for the Project Bolivia Facebook blog.

“It is so important for us to share information using a variety of communication tools – both traditional and modern,” said Casey Hollins, director of communications and public relations. “We focus on feedback to ensure our messages are effective and that members appreciate the information we share. The Spotlight on Excellence awards further confirms the hard work and dedication of the REC communication team.”

The annual Spotlight on Excellence Awards recognizes the top communication and marketing efforts by electric cooperatives and related organizations.

REC provides electric service to over 170,000 connections in parts of 22 Virginia counties.
