Spread the Love Month Encourages Community-Wide Support for Local Businesses Across Louisa

Louisa County, VA — February is the month of love, and in Louisa that love is being put into action through Spread the Love Month. This community-driven campaign that invites everyone to intentionally support local businesses and strengthen the local economy through everyday choices made throughout the month.

At its core, Spread the Love Month highlights how consistent, collective support—shopping local, choosing local services, and engaging with local businesses—creates meaningful impact. The campaign encourages sustained participation throughout February to spotlight the businesses that serve Louisa and demonstrate the power of intentional community support.

“This campaign started the way so many good things do, with a conversation with a local business owner,” said Tracy Hale Clark, Executive Director of the Louisa County Chamber of Commerce. “When businesses share ideas about what they need, our role as a Chamber is to listen and help turn those ideas into something that supports the broader business community. Spread the Love Month is a great example of that collaboration in action.”

How the Community Can Participate

Participating is simple and flexible. Throughout February, individuals are encouraged to support participating local businesses in multiple ways and as often as they choose by:

  • Making purchases / donations of $10 or more at participating businesses and organizations
  • Leaving online reviews on platforms such as Google or Facebook
(Reviews count even without a purchase, with proof of the visit)

Support can be shown multiple times across multiple businesses. At the end of the month, participants will be recognized and eligible for prizes based on overall engagement and participation.  A growing list of participating businesses is available at LoveLouisa.org.
