A Community Health Worker course will be offered at Piedmont Virginia Community College (PVCC) for the first time this spring semester. 

Participants will receive college credit, learn foundational concepts in community health and health promotion, apply preventive health knowledge, practice outreach and advocacy skills, and connect directly with local agencies and services. This is a great opportunity for community members interested in becoming Community Health Workers and for current employees that work as CHWs, outreach workers, navigators, peer support specialists, or in other roles that regularly refer clients to community resources and services.

For the spring 2020 semester (January-May), there are 20 full scholarships available. The scholarship application is attached and available online at http://www.vdh.virginia.gov/thomas-jefferson/action/. Applications will be processed on a rolling basis.
